Beginning in 1984, Brent’s family traveled throughout the Southwest with his father’s work with the Southern Pacific Railroad (now known as the Union Pacific). He has lived in Ennis, Texas; Tucumcari, New Mexico; Yuma, Arizona; Houston, Texas; and the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Brent came to McAllen, Texas in 1996 when he joined the firm. In law school, Brent clerked with a Houston law firm specializing in mass-tort and wrongful death actions. In addition, Brent previously worked for a Dallas-based commercial litigation firm where he handled commercial litigation and construction suretyship matters.

 

Brent’s training has included both litigation and transactional matters, as he had the opportunity to represent local business owners and Fortune 500 companies. Brent’s representation of clients in both state and federal court includes the following matters:

  • commercial litigation;
  • banking litigation for local, regional and national banks;
  • oil and gas disputes;
  • representation of clients before the American Arbitration Association;
  • real estate litigation;
  • mass-tort/products liability defense litigation;
  • probate and trust litigation;

    • buy-sell agreements
